For 2015 Yamaha launched their all new redesigned 1000cc R1 supersport motorcycle for the street and race track. In addition to the next generation YZF-R1, Yamaha built this limited production Yamaha YZF-R1M model that is very close to being a street legal MotoGP Yamaha M1 motorcycle with a retail price starting at $21,990 and has carbon fiber bodywork, ABS brakes, Ohlins suspension, Traction Control, magnesium wheels, titanium exhaust, race data acquisition software and much more! The technical specifications for the Yamaha R1M features a compact 998cc crossplane crank concept DOHC 16 valve inline 4 cylinder engine with a bore and stroke of 79.00 mm x 50.9 mm producing over 200 horsepower. The YZF-R1M has a 6 speed transmission and a multi plate wet slipper clutch. The engine cylinder compression ratio is 13.0:1 and the R1M has YCC-T and YCC-I fuel injection with a digital TCI Transistor Controlled Ignition system. Other Yamaha R1M specs include a wet weight of 443 lbs, 33.9” seat height, 55.3” wheelbase and is 27.2” wide. The Yamaha R1M is 80.9” long and 45.3” high. Front fork rake castor angle is 24 degree with 4.0” of trail. The fuel tank holds 4.5 gallons and fuel economy is measured at 34 miles per gallon. The YZF-R1M features a performance enhancing Quickshifter, Launch Control, Anti Wheelie Control, Slide Control and a Unified Braking System. This R1M is truly ready to race on Superbike tracks worldwide. The all new standard non M model Yamaha YZF-R1 is also available with the same 200 horsepower engine starting at $16,490 with KYB suspension, ABS along with regular bodywork. The R1M has a blue magnesium rear wheel for a 200/55ZR17 rear tire, but this bike has a 190/55ZR17.
