The Kawasaki Ninja 650R is a fun sportbike motorcycle for beginner and experienced riders. The Kawasaki Ninja 650R was introduced to the motorcycle streetbike world in 2006 and it was originally called the ER-6f or EX-6. This lightweight Kawasaki Ninja 650R sportbike is known for a comfortable ride with it’s high handlebars and not too aggressive layout. The specifications for the Ninja 650R feature a 649cc or 39.6 cubic inch DOHC 4-stroke liquid cooled parallel twin 2 cylinder engine with a bore and stroke of 83.0 mm x 60.0 mm producing 71 horsepower and 47 lbs feet of torque. The 650R engine compression ratio was 11.3:1 in the early versions from 2006-2011, while the 2012 to current models have a lower 10.8:1 compression ratio. The Ninja 650R DFI fuel delivery system uses high tech digital fuel injection with two 38 mm Keihin throttle bodies. Some other Kawasaki Ninja 650R specs include a dry weight of 392 lbs, 31.7” seat height, 55.5” wheelbase and is 30.3” wide. In 2009 Kawasaki released a naked version without fairing bodywork called the Ninja ER-6n. The name Ninja 650R was changed by Kawasaki in 2012 and is now simply called the Ninja 650 without the R added after 650.
